Moore, in Montgomery, to George N. Gilmer, in Tallassee, notifying him that the Ala. Legislature enacted a resolution praising him, Joel E. Mathews of Dallas Co., and Alexander Davidson of Perry Co., for volunteering the labor of their slaves in the defense of Ala.

Born in Spartanburg District, South Carolina, Andrew B. Moore (1807-1873) was a lawyer and the Governor of Alabama from 1857 until the outbreak of the Civil War.
